Sericulture, or silk farming, is the cultivation of silkworms to produce silk. Although there are several commercial species of silkworms, Bombyx mori (the caterpillar of the domesticated silk moth) is the most widely used and intensively studied silkworm. Silk was first produced in China as early as the Neolithic period.[1] Sericulture has become an important cottage industry in countries such as Brazil, China, France, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, and Russia. Today, China and India are the two main producers, with more than 60% of the world’s annual production.

Graduation details: Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Sericulture as a main subject (BSc Sericulture) or equivalent from a recognized Institute.

Age limit details : (For BC, BCM, MBC, DNC, SC, SCA, ST, Destitute Widow of all communities including UR / GEN Candidates – Min – 18 Years, Max – No Age Limit), (For UR / GEN Candidates – Min – 18 Years, 30 Years). Candidates Relaxation in Upper Age limit will be provided as per Govt. Rules.

Salary range of details: Rs.9300 – 34800 with Grade Pay Rs.4200/-
